Fan-made SEC football trailer featuring Luke Combs’ “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” is sure to get you excited for college football

The SEC should go ahead and release its own promotional video for the 2024-2025 season.

By now, though, they’ve already got a couple of good ones that fans have already lined up on their behalf for them to choose from. Unofficially, this has been the summer of “put a rousing country song over football highlights and call it a promo video,” and I’ve loved every second of it.

Seriously… I’ve been keeping a close eye on social media over the past few months and the amount of self-made videos highlighting upcoming college football conference seasons has been astounding. And I’m not going to say one genre of music is superior, but every single one I’ve seen has a cool country song that sets the tone for the clip.

The first one I saw appear online was actually Another one for the SECUsing the all-time classic Tania Tucker The song “Delta Dawn” and superimposing it over aerial shots of the stadium is enough to send shivers down the spine of SEC fans (and probably degenerate players, too). Another was For the BIG 12and relied on the services of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings“Mommies don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys” was a perfect match for the accompanying fan-created material.

Which brings us to this last one I’ve seen, and boy, is it a good one. Whoever put it together prepared it for… Lucas Combs‘ the new single “There is no love in Oklahoma” that appears in the country-ified Tornadoes soundtrackThe energetic country tune is great on its own, but after watching this video, it’s like it was created to enhance random football clips.

The only problem I see with “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” is that it might be a bit of a biased song choice, considering that the University of Oklahoma just moved into the SEC (along with Texas). However, the song’s message could work both ways: It could mean that Oklahoma doesn’t show love to anyone when they come to play there, or that the rest of the SEC won’t be lenient with the Sooners when they play them in their home state.

However, if you forget about that aspect, the video itself will surely TURN you on for the upcoming college football season, even if you’re not an SEC fan. And if anyone in the college football media departments sees this, they should take note that Luke Combs’ voice is perfect for football glory.
