Pine Bluff Art League announces events for July | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

The Pine Bluff Art League is planning several events in July.

Art League Meeting – Sunday

The art league’s July meeting will feature a family-friendly model drawing session at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building, 211 W. Third Ave. The league invites art enthusiasts and beginners ages 15 and older to attend from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by a league member.

Participants will draw a clothed model and develop a basic understanding of body proportions, foreshortening, and composition through gesture drawing or painting. This demonstration continues June artist and facilitator Layet Johnson’s perspective instruction through practical application, according to a press release.

Artists are welcome to bring their own materials and work in the medium of their choice. There are a limited number of art materials available on site: acrylic, oil, charcoal and graphite.

League members are encouraged to bring their original work to be voted on by their peers and displayed at Simmons Bank in Pine Bluff, Relyance Bank in Pine Bluff and Fairfield Community Credit Union in White Hall until the next meeting when new work will be selected.

The annual membership fee is $45. Artists may make checks payable to Pine Bluff Art League and mail to Pine Bluff Art League, Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building, 211 W. Third Ave., Box 8, Pine Bluff, AR 71601.
